Sorry for the terrible bluring, i'm not sure what happened when I uploaded the file from my tablet. 

I was just sketching mermaids the other day when I came up with the Ambiphye species. They are lesser mermaids? or maybe like the primitive mermaids I'm not sure yet. They have a split down the front of their tails which allows them to have legs. 

This particular Ambiphye is named Aerith (AIR-ith).

Things you should know about the Ambiphye Species
- On their chest (collar bone area) they have their gills (long stretch across the bone) and also their noses (small circular, above the gills.)
- They have normal hands however they have thick webbing which makes it seem as though their fingers are short and stubby.
- They lack colour in their eyes though you can still kind of see the iris'
- Can switch between legs and tail, the tail splits down the front revealing legs and rejoins as a long slim tail.
- They have a retractable beak (think octopus) which covers their typically human-like teeth.
-They are born from eggs similar to frogs and fish, hence the lack of belly button, nipples and other defining characteristics.
